About this Recording
According to Lloyd Top Sky, “Here at Rocky Boy, in our ceremonial grass dance, it has been our tradition to sing grass dance, and when this is over, the grass dance drum is removed for a period, and the women’s society drum is brought in, and four women’s dance songs are sung. Then the grass dance drum is brought back again for another series of songs for the men dancers. After a while the women’s society drum is brought back again.”
