History
TONY & IDA
A love story that created one of the first Native American Music Labels
Meet the Isaacs
Founded by our parents Tony Isaacs & Ida Lujan Isaacs in 1966, we are proud to continue the tradition of musical excellence for Indigenous-based American Indian Music. Now as a second generation Native-Owned recording label we are excited to now offer our albums in a digital download format to encourage appreciation, listening and enjoyment for the past, present and future generations.
Indian House Vision
Indian House Music holds a vision of presenting a collective of Native American music through the documentation of the musicians, the place and the cultural traditions in which music is created. Each album has been uniquely created featuring images of the singers and musicians. The artwork and photography featured on the album covers is custom crafted for each album. The high fidelity experience of creating the music is described in the extensive liner notes featured on all Indian House Music albums. At its' foundation Indian House is dedicated to recording and preserving traditional indigenous based American Indian music and using its approach to share authentic musical traditions.
OUR EXCLUSIVE CATALOG
The Indian House Collection is exclusive catalog only available through IHM. Each album has been carefully created, recorded in hi- fidelity sound to reflect the special ceremonial experience of that tribe as a guide to educate about why, when, and where these ceremonies are performed. Our greatest appreciation goes to the singers, tribes, and songs to help heal all people, and our mother earth. Thank you to everyone who has given all of themselves to make this the very best collection possible.
Indian House Music is also in partnership with the American Indian SoundChiefs Label founded in the 1940s by the late Rev. Linn D. Pauahty, a Kiowa Indian Methodist minister from Carnegie, Oklahoma. We are privileged to be able to re-issue and release several recordings originally recorded under this label.
